hey guys, Im actually a student here at VT and a big thanks to Erin for checking up on me. It was really hard to get a hold of anyone since cell phones were jammed from everyone trying to call home at the same time. You can imagine some of the panic that we all felt down here when we couldnt reach friends to see if theyre OK.
This incident hit close to home for me. One of my friends live on the same floor where the first shooting took place, and I walk by the dorm every morning before going to work. Not only that, the second shooting took place in my engineering building.
Rather than focusing entirely on the shooter or the faults of the police authority, we should remember those that died, still in the hospital, and the heroes that risked their lives yesterday. One professor, a holocaust survivor who was killed, blocked the doorway so that his students could jump out the windows.
VT is a great school with great ppl. Ask anyone thats come down here, theyll say that we're a lot of fun and laid back.
