Common knowledge no?

Obv DJ Mag poll is worthless.
I'm betting pretty much anything that DJ Dan was one of the MANY that paid
someone to generate fake votes in his name....he just went overboard with it to make himself #5

I agree

is he of that Zipper Track fame?

Still one of my funnier clubbing moments being at Fabric when they announced DJ Dan as number 5 at the awards thing, chorus of 'who the fuck'.

Frankly because he is now in top 5 I really like him, but PvD is still the best although I reckon Armin could be better by October this year.

Funny, I was there too. Have to agree that his set wasn't anything special. Seemed like he was playing his records in a ramdom order. And a lot of those electro-house Dirty South kinda tracks. But I don't agree on his bad mixing. Didn't hear any trainwrecking or big screw ups.

Anyway, I'd give him 6,5/10 for that night.

Rene Amesz was playing in that venue a few weeks back and I enjyed him a lot more...

No trainwrecking / mixing problems at all. But the transitions were jumpy.. there wasn't much of a flow, just a lot of random "party tunes"... and then some nowhere pseudo electro-house.

The resident who played after him (electro house + progressive) was quite good on the other hand.

DJ Dan was ok when I saw him, nothing to write home about though.

Despite playing electro house which is, in the main, homogenised, monotonous, generic crap, he actually pulled out some decent stuff and proved that the genre isn't all bad.

I shudder to think that the only productions coming out of Australia at the moment are by Dirty South or T.V Rock. I hope the rest of the world doesn't think that all our local producers are intent on making such crap.

Kasey Taylor and Nathan G are the best we have to offer me thinks.
