yea i would because like i said, my drug use has also had positive effects. while i'm realizing that i struggle mentally a little more today because of it, i'm not a complete moron , and it's not like i can't function or work properly or get through school. i'll be alright.

good to know i'm not alone though. lol

Anyone notice their short term memory going down the tubes ever since drug use? I do. I mean, looking back, I had excellent memory, but everything is kind of foggy once drugs entered the picture.

I'm not saying I'm as dumb as a rock, but sometimes I get these brain farts and I'm like, "jesus Jamie wtf". Like I literally have a hard time remembering stuff from the day before. Is that normal?

The other night this chick came into the restaurant that I work at and I instantly remembered her name and that she was the step daughter of my tennis instructor when I was in 5th grade. lol I knew her name and everything. Most people just don’t remember that shit, but I did. I wasn’t even good friends with her.

It just seems like I have no problem remembering stuff from before I started using drugs. I mean, obviously this is a no-brainer. Obviously my drug use has affected my brain. I'm just wondering if anyone can relate, and also, is there anyway to fix it or am I permanently brain damaged?

Through various forms of research, alcohol and drug use alter/dullen your senses and destroy brain cells. Once your brain cells are destroyed, they DO NOT regenerate - kiss them goodbye. The remaining variably affected brain cells are either reconditioned overtime to a near-normal state or remain permanently damaged, depending on the severity - they're never 100%, regardless.

Vitamin B6 and B12 supplements are essential for emotional/mental stability, and overall brain function. However, there is no guarantee and/or possibility whatsoever, that it'll improve brain function over long-term drug use.

I hope this helps...

CliffsNotes: Every experience with drug use has a very brief positive effect, and a permanent negative effect.

Sobriety owns.

i already explained that. my senior year involved drugs and partying which brought my solid B gpa down to an extremely low C average upon graduation. i had sports and student council on my record, but that's not enough to get you into a decent state college. i didn't bother applying because i knew damn well i wouldn't last a day in college, knowing that i'd have to wake up and make myself go to class and be respsonible. it's like i was immature, but mature at the same time. mature enough to know that i was immature. lol

so i just worked and said i'd go later, which is pretty much what happened.

I have a friend of mine who's been doing drugs since he was 13 ish and who does drugs when ever he gets the chance, and puts some of the C0re stories to shame. Anyway his memory and intelligence is beyond amazing. He's one of the smartest people I know. HIgh or sober his street smarts and actual books smarts is better than most non drug users I know. So this whole " drugs makes you stupid " ordeal doesn't effect everyone I suppose.

This is possible for some people, but that can change at anytime. He's human, just like everyone else - far from invincible.

It’s true. Some of the heaviest hitters I’ve partied with were actually doctors. My ex ex is a chiropractor and has ortho surgeon friends who do coke on a regular basis and roll and even meth and shrooms on occasion. One of the biggest partiers of them all is an ortho surgeon who specializes in kidney transplants. I spent 3 days partying with all of these guys doing glass and blow and pills. None of us slept for almost 4 days. Lol They’re all fine. I mean, they’re like fucking machines or something and never seem to get depressed or whatever from their drug use. It’s weird how some people are just like that.

It’s like how some people smoke cigs their whole life, from the time they are teenagers and never get any sort of lung disease or cancer, and yet a smoker who smoked for 5-10 years will.

Fuck me, just what you want a surgeon operating on you cracked out from a 3 day meth binge. Hopefully they don't use anytime near when they are going to have to work.
