ok i didn't read all the responses, but if she's at that 13-17 age bracket and you think the mother will be an issue...it's best to wait until she's more of an adult and on her own. i think having respect for the househould is a good idea now, because even if u met up with her and she DID realize what a bitch the mother was, it'll only make her life more complicated while she's still living at home.

Her mother's an issue for many reasons too. I just know for sure it's gonna be messy if I try to get involved now. This is a woman who came over to my house on the NIGHT MY DAD WAS KILLED to get his wallet and "cancel his credit cards and refund our ski memberships"...when in actuality she maxed out all the credit cards and kept the money from our ski passes for herself.

Oh, she also tried to take EVERYthing of ours when we had to go to probate (my dad didn't have a will).

That same summer (before he died), she gave him the ultimatum of "Either her or us (me and my sister)." My dad chose us.
