Oh shit, yeah a long time. I assume he's in an RN program, which is 4 years. From my understanding you still have to take pre-med, and you have to get something like a 95+ average in that to get into med school after.
I'm not sure how much the nursing degree helps, at least in terms of getting through med school faster. Apples and oranges really, except for the anatomy and physiology. It'd definitely be a solid foundation though.
