my two favorite fresh made guac restaurants in nyc, Rosa Mexicana (nachos lol) and Dos Caminos

I think I like Dos Caminos better since they use a much more bland chip then Rosas does...

guac + steak would probably be quite tasty, but i've never tried it before. usually i like bleu cheese or A1 steak sauce with mine, and i'm not sure the avocado would blend well with those flavors.

i do like avocado slices on hamburgers though! i ordered a tofu burger last weekend solely so i could eat something with avocado slices on it.

the one i went to was called The Alamo. it was somewhere between 2nd and 3rd avenues around 47th or 48th street... don't remember exactly since it's been a while. i think they got shut down a few years ago for health code reasons though.

yea i've only had a few places with good guac, im kinda skeptical for those unsanitary places especially if they are preparing fresh foods.

mmmm Roqufort butter FTW.

BTW, you wouldn't mix guacamole with either A1 (why would you ruin your steak with that crap) or blue cheese. I'd recommend you prepare a rub of kosher salt, granulated garlic, black pepper, and chili powder... press it into the steak, let sit for 1/2 hour to an hour depending on thickness of steak, BBQ, then place the guacamole on top of the cooked steak just as you would any compound butter.

no matter what the steak aficionados say, i still love me some A1. mmmm.

your way sounds good though. RJT and i both love steak and guacamole, so we shall try this out sometime!

i like just plain bleu cheese sprinkled on top of the steak, letting it melt a bit and mix with the juices on top of the steak.

mixing it with butter and garlic sounds tasty too, but ive never tried that.

Also a very good combination. Although bacon holds a very cherished place in my heart, there is still a lot to be said about a good maple syrup sausage.
