If he's going to heavily-advertise that he uses Ableton at every gig then it would be nice to see him doing more with it. That said, my experience has been hit and miss. The sets that I download vary from great to bleh, and the one time I saw him at the end of December I wasn't too thrilled.

However, I never rule out a DJ just from my first time seeing them. I have the option to see him again in September and I'll take it. Nobody can be perfect night after night, so seeing a DJ once and going, "Oh, well he has to be like that all of the time so fuck him!" isn't the way to go, in my opinion.

He has ups and downs but when he's on point everyone knows he's the shit. Sometimes he has some really good shit in his record box, sometimes not so good, but he usually plays pretty interesting music and presents it in an interesting way. His ableton setup and the way he uses it is also much more refined and interesting than when he first started.

Like people said, its not something you can get from a live set.

And ANF, a set full of ID's is very rare these days...its just what happens when EDM collides with the internet.

Well that worked.

In any case, I'm pretty sure you'll never like Sasha because him and others like him just dont play the kind of music you like.

What I love about the old Sasha sets is that he could do unique things with tracks even if you recognised them. I love it when he'd make a medley out of two or three mixes of one track to make one extended mash-up of a track you couldn't get anywhere else.

I def wish he'd do more of that in Ableton. He does it now and then and sometimes at the end of a long set...but thats it.

I don't keep up with him anymore, so I didn't want to comment on his new sets.

i'll agree although it still can be done albeit harder and risking the integrity of a mix to be obscure is pointless. i concede.
