kind of a side note... one time i drove 2 and a half hours to get to some watermelon fruit stand that one of my sound engineering teachers told me about to try "the best juice on the planet" it was basically watermelon water... not worth it.

also, this might be kind of strange, but it makes me feel really warm and happy inside to know that the animals i'm eating came from a happy place, so i almost always try to buy meat that says "organic" or "cage-free" or "steroid-free" etc... sometimes i try to imagine what their lives were like before they got turned into food, and i really hope that they had time to graze and hang out in the sunshine with their buddies before they got turned into a tasty sammich which i will devour with great pleasure.
Defintely a good point although I think the best part of the "free range" chicken is that there aren't a shitload of them packed together next to each where disease can spread easily and therefore they don't need to be injected with tons of antibiotics to keep them from getting sick. I'd rather take antibiotics when I get sick and need them, not when I'm eating a chicken sandwich.

I also agree with Myra.
A lot of people wouldn't believe how many steroids get shot into cattle and poultry these days it's so gross how a lot of these animals are treated/handled.
Happy animals = happy tummy for Lis.

a lot of beef now in the uk is imported from brazil/argentina and badly treated/slaughtered on the way over. I simply refuse to buy it. My pork comes from denmark or the uk, lamb from wales or new zealand, beef from scotland etc. I label read lots
