Dont waste your time
"Club Nasa" is a joke...the entire scene in Clear Lake is Hip Hop, and Houston follows closely behind. There is NO market for trance in the area...zero...ZILCH...NADA.
I have been in this area for the past 12 years, I was / am an avid raver, and I was actually contracted (thru the production company who started with the club) to play at "Club Nasa"...I wouldn't waste the gasoline it takes to get there. I wont even go into the diatribe concerning the owner of the club being a complete and utter money grubbing idiot.
Trust me when I say this..."There is NO trance scene anywhere within 100 miles of Houston"...I have been relentless in my search...I have attended virtually every major event that Houston has had to offer (Tiesto, Armin, Oakenfold, G&D, and various others) and have been repeatedly disappointed both in the quality of talent and every single venue to date. Houston is interested in ONE thing and one thing only...$$$! Clubs rape you with the admission fee (Anyone check out the scar-pricing on Van Dyk?)...drinks? lets not even go there...and parking in downtown Houston is a nightmare...but by far the largest complaint (i hear this one after every show I attend) is that club pack 200% capacity crowds in for every big name...it's hard to breathe, let alone dance when you have less than one square foot to move. (M-bar and Rich's come to mind)
In short, mes ami...H-town is down with the ghetto-ass bullshit called rap...and nothing else.
I fucking hate the scene here now...and I punish myself repeatedly by attending every show by a big name that I used to enjoy.
I'm not a hater...I just can't think of anything positive about being in Houston and enjoying electronica at the same time.
