This is kind of irrelevant though. His point is that he thought Benny played a bad set. People don't go to clubs to say, "Even though this set sucks, this guy has produced tracks that sold millions of records, so therefore it's a good night." That doesn't make sense.

I frequently see this "the club industry is a business" argument on these boards. Patrons of these businesses shouldn't care about the profit motivations of the owners, they should only care about their experience. A customer's expression of their bad experience should not be discounted because, "the club industry is a business, and therefore you should accept things for the way they are." A business should be run based on customers' experiences, not the other way around.

bro.. it's dance music.

if you take it as seriously as classical music then you need to do everyone a favour and stop listening to it, and stop going out to club, cause you're ruining the fun for everyone else.

My friends and I aren't the type to go to these parties to get all drugged up and flail our arms around and be surrounded by sketchy Asians. We go for the music.

And when in that post did i say anything about taking EDM as seriously classical?

ps. you sound like a jackass that thinks he knows it all.

you're one of those people that think its only cool if an artist stays "underground". as much as i hate seeing good house music being ruined by radio stations like z103, in the end it is still a business. any artist would be happy to know that their song has hit the mainstream market because that is the only way to really survive. would an artist be happier to know that he/she is selling to thousands or millions of people rather than hundreds? i think so.

as far as benny's set is concerned, i think he did alright. his mixing wasnt the greatest as i heard him fuck up a couple times but he did recover quickly and he did have a good track selection. and from what i could see from the stage, [B]EVERYONE was having a great time so you were probably the only person crying about it in a dark corner.[/B

Trumpet and saxophone.

All the dark corners were being taken up by sketchy asians so I just we just left after about 20 mins. Good thing we didn't pay.

I don't have beef with making money off of your music. I have a problem with making your music FOR money.

wellll i dont know what you guys heard, or where you were.. because i loved every second of his set.. idk maybe i was just in a really good mood, but i thought it was amazzinggggg. The atmosphere, the crowds energy.. everything

but everyone has their own opinion right?

I was only in the gallery for a few of Sydney Blus songs, so i cant really say much about that.

LOL that was hardly his opinion. I think you should re-read his first post again.

Obviously people aren't going to enjoy every night out they have. But too say that no one should like that, and if we do, we have don't know anything about music, is absolutely ridiculous.

Gail in the O was dropped, which was great...but i dunno about ur opinion Mr. beefk...I mean, i know everyone has their own opinion...but u make it kind of seem like, " if you thought his set was good, ur an idiot" type of deal...besides the couple of mistakes, and his flamboyant "happiness" most of the opinions here generate from, "he was ok"...to " i had a wicked time", so benny is obviously doing something right, sorry you diddnt enjoy yourself, go to gallery ot something, theres always good music there, then ur next review can be...i wasnt feeling "enter dj here", so i went to gallery and had a sick time...

anyone who says they "go for the music" is a douche.

They're also between the ages of 19-22 and had their first afterhours EDM experience within the last 24 months.

relax boys....
i've been to a couple shows in toronto and windsor, and seen benny in london and i didnt think it was his best outing but i think much of the experience is based around the crowd, you have a good crowd thats into it, having a good time your going to enjoy yourself, you have a crowd that isnt feelin it or you go in with negative expectations just looking for his faults and of course your not going to enjoy it...
i think it was prety decent, crowd was energetic so you cant ask for much more...but i did spend the latter part of the nite catching Dekoze, which was prety solid as far as i was concerned...
ps relax on the asians
