ps the worse thing is when people call something a remix and do not do anything but add bits of other songs on top without crediting them. Accessability to technology makes people think they are talented for clicking a mouse 6 times. Call it a bootleg at least, if you say remix without having permission from the label, you should just change your name Greg Downey.

making a kick ass mix with your name on it>taking credit for edits. When i do them i don't write anything on them. If people wonder why a track is different when they buy it, well that is what they get for trainspotting.

pps if you play another tracks drum pattern over a breakdown you take out the breakdown..its called mixing, not a live edit.

ahh all nite freak... we think the same...

confirm!

if i end up using it in a demo, i just don't know if that's worth mentioning or not.

That sounds like a Fat Boy Slim track I can't quite remember. Everything was gold except for that annoying siren breakdown, it's crazy or something to think that sounds good. Maybe the point of it was to make it sound so terrible that people would love for the good part of the tune to come back into focus, which does.

If you have chopped a section out, but not actually re-arranged or added anything, could you not just put "edited" in brackets. No need to put your name to it and it just lets the listeners know that the track has had cuts of some descripton made so they know it will have extra sections if they get the full track themselves.

That's not all they're selling.

The biggest thing that bugs me is 90%+ of people who claim to love music have no idea what a DJ does, what a producer does and how a track is made.... and they don't care.

The thing that pisses me off? that dumb advert that pops up when ever I click on a TA thread from an email notification. It also usually crashes the page in firefox so i have to refresh the screen.
