kid nyce i dont think kanye is whack at all. i think he brings some crazy innovative sounds to the table. i respect him as a sampler and producer. However i totally agree with you if your talking about kanye as a mc. as an mc like i said if he doesnt have cameos he sucks. he usually has good cameos too, unfortunately this album he tried to do it by himself rofl.

when kanye first came out, i knew he wasnt a very good mc. i thought kanye's mic skills would have improved more by this album but either way his beats are good enough to carry him...though he should have thrown up his hot beats to someone deserving

funny you talk up how wack kanye is, and joell ortiz isn't, but that last youtube contains a kanye-beat ripoff.

hip hop is not what one group thinks it should be, look at outkast. outkast has never stopped innovating, and without them the southern hip hop movement wouldnt exist as it does. but since they change and evolve are they no longer hip hop?

the roots, outkast, common, mos def. none of those artists fits into one grouping like: '90s NY hip hop' labeling like that is wack.


kanye has been a major force, mostly behind the scenes in shaping and changing what people expect of hip hop musically and sonically. if you want all hip hop to sound like big pun, then change will suck for you|
