lol at all the comments...i know it's late but i just found out there was a thread about electronica.
@vanos: u could've simply used constructive criticizm instead of being such an ass. we had a headcount of over 400 people, and for a student club that charges absolutely NOTHING, and receives no funding, that's pretty fucking awesome.
were u expecting to see ravers, and underground clubbers ?? they breathalize students for god's sake, it's an on-campus club not the guv!
i think we had a decent crowd, yes there were noobs but most of these ppl came up to me n said:"i never liked em,now i can't wait for the next electronica" we create an awareness of the music, and try to break stereotypes about em as techno, or annoying repetitive beats, because not everybody likes this music and not everybody knows the difference between trance n house VANOS.
we have djs spinning dnb, house, electro, trance, tech trance...etc who cares if there was mainstream trance for an hour, everybody has their own taste in em, who the hell are you to judge!
if you go to schulich then you must know about pub nights on thursdays. they play 2 minutes of dance music at the end of the night. cascada- everytime we touch is played everysingle thursday, so without emsay that's as far you'll get with em at york university.
i personally had an amazing time, and considered it to be one of the most successful events at YorkU, which is why The Underground has made Electronica an official event on its calendar.
So Vanos think before you speak, out of respect for the STUDENTS (who are just as busy with school, work and life as u are) and djs (Z,mike, nagels n drew..u were all amazing) who put alot of effort and time into this.
Lastly, i will create a thread for our NEXT ELECTRONICA WHICH IS THIS COMING FRIDAY @ THE UNDERGROUND.
