Do we even want it to?

I'd say leave "Trance" as the "bad" word, for the masses, to describe anything from Scooter to ATB.

Part of the appeal of this sound to me, is that it isn't part of the hype so far. Yeah, neo-trance is passed around EDM forums all the time, but outside the scene, nobody has a clue. Thats what i like.

it depends how broad, loosely you use the term trance to describe music. using your definition, this covers such a wide array of music that it ends up becoming not very useful in describing a song for the purposes of giving a dj an idea what he can play in the type of sets he plays.

Since the strict definition of trance doesn't exist, I would still say that my definition (it's not really my) is closer to truth than your "trance is pvd, armin, tiesto itd...". With that view you're excluding a huge part of trance, such as psy, hard or ambient trance.

it sounds like one of those tunes that can be pigeonholed differently depending on its context. it doesn't exactly scream 'trance' to me from the off, but if placed correctly in the early stages of a trance set i think it could fit & be classified thusly
