Okay while it is true that some people are extremely fat because of gluttony, you have to understand that some of the people who are obese and over-eat are that way because eating for them is a coping mechanism. I read a study not long ago that proved that eating can be addictive. The gist of it (that i can remember) is that when we eat, we produce dopamine - the neurotransmitter that, among other things, allows us to experience pleasure. The study had found that people who suffer from obesity had defects in the dopaminergic responses to food; which is to say that they needed more food in order to feel "better", much like a drug addict.
That study also found that a lot of those people knew of the health problems they were facing but were unable to stop themselves from eating because, as i said, eating is their way of coping with stress in their lives.
Now i'm not saying everyone is like that, and i'm not saying it's okay because they're addicts. All i'm saying is don't be so quick to judge, not everyone eats just because they're complete gluttons. |
yep thats true, too> not an excuse for everyone of course. Some people are just fat and lazy and gluttons. But, take me for example....I am no where near obese (see avatar pic) but I was born into a very large family and have zero metabolism. I am still on the bigger side. I work out 3 days a week minimum and eat perfectly (I HATE greasy/fatty food, it makes me feel sick....and I control portions).
Am I skinny though? Not even close, nor will I ever be. But it pisses me off when people might think that I or other people like myself are lazy and eat too much..... because I take care of myself better than most skinny people do.
^^just an fyi before the comments and judgements about "all" big people come rolling in........
