haha wow. i actually heard it on the radio in the car the other day, but i hadn't listened to the samples for a while so it didn't click! dammit lol

i like how you tried to do it a little different this time with the live set samples and the video ID, maybe future contests could have that as well. im sure mr mystery will continue to complain, but some people are never satisfied

i think it's cool to have a little twist in each contest, to keep things varied.. hence why i went for the uber short samples of classics at the end of mine

New twists are fun but the liveset thing just didn't work at all. The clips didn't really offer any clues and for someone like me who doesn't listen to livesets at all that means they were just plain impossible.

I had a bonus ID in my comp where I mangled Xpander nearly beyond recognition, so I'm all for new ideas. They just need to work

For the liveset IDs I was trying to sample big "moments" from the trance scene. 46 was from arguably the best set of a man at his peak, when the scene was at its peak; 48 was famous for all the wrong reasons; 49 is just legendary, one which I thought people would be able to get had I just wrote the words "Nice one brotha, I said nice one!" in a text file.

The other two were difficult/obscure alright, but with the clues I thought they were both gettable.

It worried me when people were throwing random sets at me as answers (sets that just included the sampled song), it was exactly what I wasn't aiming for.

That was just unfortunate. I admit that I didn't even consider that people didn't listen to livesets, so I can see why you were against them! Just out of interest, why don't you listen to them?

Indeed. Oakey at his best and the fact that it comes from his famous EM Tour should make it even easier to ID. The rest was more difficult (I just got 2 of 5 liveset IDs), but it was a nice try just to make the contest more interesting.

I'm not really a fan of these gimmicky things, but if anyone has any ideas I'll be glad to consider them. I've made all my samples by the way, so it's just a case of when you guys want the next one to start?

Might be a good idea to wait a few days or so. Then again I'm ready right now

Got hosting sorted?

What about a few tracks backwards? E.g. Orbital's "Halcyon" would be a good one.

Haha, nice one. Tyas' "Drop" would be good one, too .
