I heard a set, it was all house.

I mean... I love house, and I thought it was horrible. Epic failure to the max.

The live @ energy set on TA is still one of my favourite sets ever. It was probably one of the first sets I ever got haha.

how you can say he is shit I have no idea. I was quite shocked when i heard white lies to find out that it was his new tune, it is quite poor, but there are also some very good tracks on his new album (Big Bang, New York City).

As for his mixing, all of you that say he is a shit DJ have no idea how to mix yourselves IMO, there is no other DJ that i have seen that is capable of putting tracks together the way he does. Yes he does have poor sets and i have been to a few of them (SW4 this year would be an example, when he broke his set up too many times to have live performances in aid of album launch, or his set at Slinky in April this year, where there was no set progression whatsoever), but I have seen him about 40-50 times now in the last 3-4 years, and have to say there have been many more good sets than bad sets (a good example being his 6 hours at gatecrasher in may this year, absoloutely blinding!!!)

Also, as for him playing the anthem in every set, why do you think he does it... the majority of the crowd fucking love the tune and it gets them going, also the sign of a good DJ, playing tracks that please the crowd. I hate the track and refuse to go anywhere near it, but then i'm nowhere near as good as PvD

His mixmag cd's, legendary, especially that one that someone linked to on discogs, its still in my cd wallet for my car now, pure class

Can you think of a more disgraceful artist for him to have remixed? Britney Spears is the poster child of musical blindness and delusion. Is this remix supposed to be a play of irony?

That's a matter of opinion. Besides, what does it matter who the original artist is as long as the end product sounds good? I'm guessing everyone here must have long lost all respect for James Holden as well.

Well part of the problem is he patronizes this shit and attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

I dont mind the Anthem but its the other shit I cant take like Born Slippy, White Stripes, Oasis, and the slow techy shit he seems to play for about an hour every set these days.

havent heard the song and dont want too, just b/c its britney spears, not b/c PVD did a remix. an odd choice for a remix, yes but that doesnt make him a bad dj. he still makes good music and has good sets.

If you are refering to plastikman - Spastik you can fock right off

I personally think PVD is a genious. His mixing is superb, there is no question about that, and he knows exactly when to throw on a party tune. If your the kind of person who goes clubbing to stand at the front and watch his every move whilst writing down the tracklist in a notebook, then you might get pissed off by the occasional slightly more commercial tune. If you go to dance and have a good time you will find that he creates an atmosphere that is second to none! And the way he layers tunes over the top of eachother on the fly is simply awsome. His essential mix from global gathering is absolutly superb, especially the first hour and a half.

Well, when James did it, the idea seemed to be either a pisstake, or to prove the point you can turn even an absolutely shit record into something decent.

As for why Paul did it, I don't know and I don't care.
