jesus, the memories.

first night of system reno's he was spinning. the lineup was all around peter street, there was 1000 people waiting, if not even more (lol). THE most amazing buildup, that "baby make your move" accapella repeating some 15 times and then going into some uncharted tribal teritory.

dark and twisted, twisted, dark and fucking awesome.

goddamn i miss system, GODDAMN. fuck.

funny thing, lately i went back hardcore to tribal and pretty much all that i listen in the past 7 days is the first 40 minutes of Steve Lawler's - Essential Mix @ ID-T Radio(2004-02-21). fuck me sideways trice.

is he ever going back to tribal??

edit - what happened to ryan parks site?? anybody knows where can i find those pics from system??

His set from Bucharest in 2004 is very similar to the set he played that night. You should look for it.

Lawler and System Soundbar go hand in hand....you always knew that Lawler was bringing his A game when he was at System.

I miss system like that place made me fall in love with the scene, and i liked old system best before they made the renovations.

but yea my fav lawler nights @ system ...

the first time I saw him play there in september of '01 ... when he went on the mic and apologized to the crowd for missing his last gig in july (airlines lost his gear) and said hes gonna play an extra long set to make up for it!!!

aaaaaaand

the system re-opening / anniversary party!!!

[edit] i might have to miss him this summer if the timing is off on the guvvy / skybar gig! and I havent missed a lawler gig in TO since I first saw play @ element bar waaaaaaay back when!

Last year I found on somebody's FTP a huge list of DJ sets and saw that the Lawler set from Element Bar from 2001 were there. Never got a chance to register on the site and was unable to grab the sets. I've seen this in more than one occasion and just wanna know if you or anyone here have the sets from Element? Anyone wanna share them? Since they obviously exist!
