Get customs made. They are well worth the money and will last you many years.

I've had mine since 2003. I just had my hearing checked this morning and it is unchanged from 2003 (with many hundreds of nights out since then).

Union Hearing
123 Edward Street
Toronto, ON, Canada
(416) 364-2264

The cost about $100 per ear.

I've posted this issue before ...I've used earplugs for years at any loud venue...I get them from work because of loud noises there as well and I get my hearing check every 2 years through my work location so I strongly urge people to use them...And just because you "feel" that you don't need to wear them because you don't feel the after effects well then you are just kidding yourself...you ARE doing irrepairable damage to the inner ear and you WILL go deaf prematurally

I know that they may feel weird at first but you quickly get used to them AND you must make sure that you install them in the ear canal properly

I had a pair of custom ER-35's made and they served me well for a couple of years then I lost one of them one night after a crazy night in Singapore and never got around to getting a new mould done.

I started using ER-20's after that and they were fine, didn't block out too much but the only thing I disliked were the prongs sticking out of my ears (and they were obvious) and they weren't so perfectly fitting like the customs.

So might have to look at investing in the moulded ones again sometime.

Whatever the case - if you attend concert events, club gigs and general places with a high decibel count I'd recommend getting some earplugs.

The lady at the place where I got my customs done (in Sydney) told me it was surprising how many people came to her after their ears were damaged and ended up paying thousands to try and get their hearing back (through artificial means) when they could have invested a couple hundred bucks in the beginning and saved their hearing. She also told me some statistics regarding hearing loss which were pretty shocking.

Lol, seriously. That's one thing I hated about them too. Not very attractive.

I did that in residence lol.

I learned to tuck my ER-20's so I could sleep on my side without jamming the prong into my head lol.

I usually woke up in the morning and found them half way across the room
