lol i love the mom and pop shops. although the only ones we have here mostly are niche and 2nd hand clothing stores and restaurants.

Correct. I miss the superwalmart at college because I would go grocery shopping Sunday nights at 3 am. Nobody was there, no line, and I would sometimes get new release DVDs on Monday nights 12am.

Wal-Mart hasn't opened in NYC yet because they have to deal with strong union opposition. The mom and pop stores have been slowly disappearing from NYC since the revitalization of NYC in the mid 90s. (I never thought I'd live to see the day Home Depot has 1 let alone 2 locations in Manhattan)


it's really inevitable before wal-mart opens its first store in NYC
