I can only speak for myself, but for me it's not all that different. The musical talent is what makes a night for me, and well, I'm tired of hear the same locals, week in and week out.
The club decor won't change why I go out, to listen to music. No matter where I go, it's the same people, same music, same formula.
Some of us are just looking/waiting for a reason to go to Circa, as they were supposed to have brought in different/new talent with their new decor and design. All we are asking is for Circa to give us a reason to go, which is a positive imo, as we are more than open to the idea.
The only places that have really stuck out in my mind over the years are Footwork and the old Boa. Guv gets an honorable mention with its big room, big party, multi-room events. |
I get what you and other people are saying in here, it's just for me I don't think you'd go to Circa JUST for the music. (It's a different club compared to Footwork and the old Boa or even Guv. Especially considering the atmosphere, and sure the music (no matter how mediocre is currently is). It's not like any other club in that respect so I'd go just for that initially at least and then go regularly if they beef up the talent. The reason to go first is the design, then go later for the music. (I don't see what's so bad to go occasionally to the place...)

+1, not to mention that music has the capability to be drastically different, while the club decor does not. It seems somewhat silly to want go to Circa just for its decor/experience, and not the music itself - its decor will be the same on any given weekend, but the music aspect is what has the potential to be different, so it's perfetly natural to want to wait for GOOD music in order to check out the decor. |
Naw, not for me. As in not for my first time going there. Obviously I'm not going to go all the time but I don't see the huge deal in going, seeing what it's like and that's it. Instead of saying "Aww their line up sucks it's why I never will go until they start doing something to bring in decent djs" etc. It's childish IMO, if you want to check out the club, then GO check out the club. Nobody says you have to go all the time, or even more then that one time.

I don't remember who I was talking to about this, but they mentioned that Circa had 4-5 rooms (?) of house. Why the hell would you do that? They made a very good point about finally having an opportunity to have different styles, and genres everywhere, while still staying electronic. I couldn't agree more. Is Toronto's crowd/demand that homogeneous?
