LOL in my lab we use OSX for email and shit. All the real work is done on linux workstation and beowulf clusters. I think you're Dell should be fine, especially if you're like me and run OSX on it. Even though I don't like OSX.

OSX blows. When I took Survey of Commercial Structures we used Linux. I'm not too fond of Linux, let alone if any new builds/updates have been made since 04'. I'm sure I'll be seeing it again though.
