I use to use iTunes but I wasn't paying attention (or was sketch) and updated it by mistake. I ended up with the newest version which scans your ENTIRE music library to "determine gapless play back "http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-60679.html It had to scan my entire library 70GB or so, made up mostly of sets before you can use it. Since mine is on a remote external world drive it was taking forever and continued to lock up my system (thanks Windows).

Got rid of iTunes until I can reformat may laptop and install an older version of iTunes.

haha i know brutal. and everytime you add a file to your ipod as well. im sticking with version 6 and refuse to let itunes update itself. if you're nt careful it can rename all your files too.
