from the reviews on rhythmism it looks like people's thoughts on the night varied a decent amount. Some people said he was awesome, others said he was boring.

anyone on TA go?

I ended up going to Love but couldn't get myself to stay. Left at about 1.30am, so umm...no Craig Richards review.

Love was packed and there was a constant line 4-5 ppl long outside. The coat check line went half way to the waterfall. The bartenders were cool. The guy checking stamps was a hardass and told he wouldn't let me out to smoke a cigarette. Not a big fan of the dance floor bar either. Takes away that deep, dark, lose yourself, dance your ass off, underground feeling.

Oh, and my shag carpeting. They got rid of shag carpeting in fraggle rock! And the boarded up round see through glass. I guess the fire marshal asked them to change all that?

Will Love ever be the same? Every place changes and evolves. Some hate it, some love it. However, it seems it's getting more popular so it's good (or potentially bad) for business. Sometimes a place gets so popular people stop going there (thanks Yogi).

Yeah, when I was there last weekend, I didnt really appreciate the changes. I loved the fraggle rock feel, and the big circle that looked in. The bar was also somewhat lit, so, like you said, it took away from that super-dark underground feel a bit.

That shag carpet was cool, but it got FUNKY (and not in a good way). No idea why that hole was taken out, but I love that little seating area where the "pond" used to be. I think the bar on the side is genius, personally, as I know I prefer a short walk to the side of the room to grab a drink vs. walking aaaaall the way to the front to get it. The funny thing is for every person that wants it dark and grimey on the dancefloor, there's somebody who says it's too dark and needs more lighting...haha.

Jace (the bartender) is definitely awesome. Very cool dude. Not sure who was being a prick about the stamping thing, but if I had to guess he was probably stressed from having people walk back and forth in front of him all night. Not a good excuse, but my best guess. Honestly, people are dumb, and will just stand there and block the entrance, so I can sorta understand why he's be frustrated at that point of the night.

I heard the music was amazing, and that it was terrible...nothing really in between. I didn't make it, but I'm sure he absolutely killed it (based on some of his past stuff i've heard).

People did say that a lot, but here's what Bill Patrick from Robots fame said:

"wow...i thought craig was amazing at Love..super groovy, trippy techno...i couldnt leave the dancefloor.

i think people here need massive sounds in order to enjoy the night. some buildups, white noise, or vocal of some sorts? i have no idea anymore..

i'm not sure what everyone was expecting from craig but that is far from his style.
he definitely dropped it down after taimur and fahad (who i thought played well but maybe a bit too big towards the end). the way he moves through different styles is really inspiring (especially loved the electro breaks towards the end)...that is vintage craig. he's been doing it for years at fabric and has made that party one of the best in the world."

It's all perspective, I suppose.

Hes got a very different taste in music IMO from listening to his radio show...
Give me all the buildups, white noise, ice cannons when I'm out wanting to rip up a dancefloor.

People deffinately should have done their homework before going..IMO Craig Richards and Lee Burridge play moody music for lounges and nothing more..I'm speaking for a lot of people when I say that the only reason people turned up for their Tyrant parties at Fabric was just incase Sasha made a guest appearance..They were very very solemn occasions..
