It's not bullshit, actually. It's called 'the law'. You hold a party, you invite people, you deal with the fallout. I know people who got fined over $50,000 in college for hosting a house party.

So you think he should be responsible for the actions of 499 other people because he invited probably 25 people to his house?

Sorry, I disagree.

What makes you assume that he invited only a few friends ? I believe his party was well publicized.

He is already getting offers from promoters to arrange parties for them.

Umm, yea, after he was on the news for what happened. I really doubt that he alone managed to get 500 people there.

It isn't hard. I used to throw huge parties all the time when I was 15-16.

It's a domino effect. You invite 20 people, they invite their own 20 people, so on and so on. I really don't think he contacted 500 people himself and invited them all over. He even said that it started off as a small get together with his friends.

Regardless, even if he had, why does that make him responsible for what they were doing OFF OF HIS PROPERTY and on the streets? Suddenly because you get invited to someones house you are exempt from taking responsibility for your own actions?

Well speaking from experience, I invited most people myself.

Because it makes you liable. Especially when the people in question are under the legal age to do anything.

Plus, think of things like noise violations and stuff. There's a ton of shit a person throwing a house party can be fined/charged with.

Meh... I still disagree.

It's this whole idea that people are not in control of themselves and their own actions, and that the person who provided the space/liquor/etc. are the ones who should be held responsible.

Same thing with our liquor laws here in Ontario. You get drunk at a bar and drive.. hit another car and cause damage... the bar can get sued. What kind of shit is that?

We are allowing people to point the finger at someone else for their own decisions.

You are absolutely right, plus the kid is pure comedy. You'd have to be a total idiot to mess with his famous glasses.
