Well, I can't say there are more earthquakes simply because I feel I am hearing more and more about earthquakes. That would not make it so. I can only justify my feeling if there is a measured increase in earthquake activity around the globe. Stuff like the 2004 Asian tsunami freaks me out a little. But even still, if all these things were documented by science, that still would not prove any of the mystical interpretations of the end of the world, because these predictions are not based in science. But for me, someone who believes in faith along with science, it gives me the spooks. |
2004 tsunami was nothing. Recall an island called Krakatau? If not, it's because it blew itself up in the late 1800s, with massive amounts of devastation following in its wake. I'm sure many were predicting the End Of The World for years after that, at least until the year 1900 (because we all know the World loves to End on centennial dates of the Christian calender). And let's not get into the global effects of Tombora in 1815! Imagine if something like that happened today.
Earth's a rough place to live. Always has been, and always will be.
