so you want to strip the Canadian worker's right to organise? In some work environments (such as industry, public service) still require unions because corporations are always looking for ways to fuck their workers. Believe me, I've seen it first hand.
Five years ago when I had my city job in London I was looking after a facility during a lacrosse tournament. Some kid got his face smashed with a stick and there was blood all over the glass and floor and it was my job to clean it up. Trouble is there were no latex/rubber gloves that I could use so I refused to do it. My supervisor went ape shit after the coaches bitched so I called my union/HS rep and he came down. Turns out that kid had fucking Hep C and my "serve the corporation at all cost" boss didn't care if I was protected or not.
That kind of shit happens all the time in the work industry. In some environments (offices, etc), unions are perhaps not necessary but my mother is a prime example of someone who has a good job but no job protection at all and could be walked out at a minute's notice if they find someone younger or want to cut costs. And some unions (like the TTC) are far too stubborn but the moment you take the right to organise away is just another liberty being eliminated. Corporations already run our fucking lives...you want to hand them an entirely unprotected workforce?
I thought you loved civil liberties Jay? |

However, I find it pointless to argue the TOTA NeoCons... they'll just keep whining regardless of what points you make. If they are losing precious dollars, they don't know how to shut the fuck up. Seriously, I think TOTA is only place in the world that would compain about a MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE.
