Wow. So many people here are totally missing the point behind Earth hour. Seriously...

Turning off your lights for Earth hour had as much to do with saving electricity as Live-8 had to do with fundraising for the third world. It's about awareness. It's symbolic.

The whole idea is to garner awareness about the amount of power wasted everyday, to get people to make concious decisions to minimize waste every day.
