well real weak shitty lasers. We cant have the bright solid beam lasers, and we cant have lasers point to the crowd - thus no laser show just shitty straight forward lasers not tilting or circling. Usually the lasers here are just the green ones and with laws they dont do shit but either go slowly back and forth or quickly making that fog like effect. But that is it. Really weak. Yea people get blind but what are the latest statistcs of that happening in europe? That i think should reason if the laws or stupid or for a good cause. Also setups are way better in europe because it isnt a shitty endstage rock type of thing. The emphasis is on production not dj worshipping like in the states. It usually isnt a rectangular screen behind a dj booth in europe - it is in the states.

are you talking about a new state regulation? CA? i also didnt notice any lasers in this armin only video.

I dont think there are stage laws but in general prodcutions here go cheap with stages and only do a simple steel end stage or what not with a rectangular screen in the background - thats it. No center stage or side stages - just pure shitty and simple

There are laws with lasers and saftey and using lasers is risky because if you do it wrong and then somethign happens LAWSUIT.
There were no lasers last year at Tiesto at Bill Graham....but this is not a show jsut for him. Rules can be different. Maybe no lasers during his set if anything....but I dunno, maybe somethign was worked out.
No lasers at the lovefest afterparty last year, either...a bit of a bummer as the setup for the LF afterparty in 2006 was rather decent (videos below).
With that, production here is much more expensive than doing it in Europe. Both for the equiipment and you are forced to use UNIONS if you do it in just abotu any large venue. And booking DJs here is much more expensive than in Europe to.
Just a state of the union. THe production companies (well, most) want to provie an amazing production for you....but it's just so expensive that costs make it difficult for it to happen.
