I totally get the understanding that everyone has the right to say and feel what they want and everyone is entitled to their opinion, (clearly, it's just that, someone's own opinion)
I do totally understand the frustration of any performer when reading negative reviews.
I know personally, since becoming part of YM with Larse and Mike, my love for tech house has grown leaps and bounds. I can tell you there are times when at 2 in the AM makett (mike) will give me a call cause he just came across a track, or I'll wake Larse out of bed to have him hear a mash-up I just did.. it's a passion, a love, a deep deep desire that every DJ, every music lover shares.
Now imagine being told that _THAT PASSION_, what fuels you to move, what fuels you to perform.... is not "accepted as techno." It's frustrating, it's unmotivating, it's the exact opposite of what music is suppose to do for you.
The old saying "if you got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all" is perfect, unfortunately, this is a message board and I also understand people have to create "drama", add two cents into conversations they really have no interest about.
YM music isn't really classified as anything, I personally feel genre sucks. So if V DUB.... doesn't aceept it for techno, so be it, it sucks that you don't like it, but if you don't like it because your limiting your "liking" to the simplicity if this is "techno" or not, you're going to miss out on a lot of opporunities. Think outside the box friend.
Although Chris and Mike play a lot of "tech" house, very grimey, very miminalistic sounds with rollers and poppers and... (looks at the YM dictionary) and clean grime and this and that, YM itself plays music across the board, I dropped diamonds are for her two weeks ago for my girlfriend Milena cause she likes the song and because it was a classic feel good choon that got the crowd bumpin'... and really, in the end... that's all that matters
YM wants people to have a good time, be it grime, be it me being a retard and throwing on a mask and dancing to some british pop house behind the decks, to the element of surprise... we are DJS, performers, and entertainers...
If you don't want to like us because you don't accept us as a genre of techno, that's cool... no worries, we're cool with that, because one less negative person in the club actually makes the party better.
