well for the record there are A LOT of chinese and indian people at my school too... but many of them are just on student visas and when they do finish their masters of phds (i have none of them in my classes i am only going for my bachlors atm), they will be sent back to india or china to earn next to nothing. i dont know why but i was talking to one of the kids and he was telling me that the companies dont even accept his resume because hes on a student visa. i ended up feeling bad for him.

uhhhh....
algebra: y=mx+b
linear algebra:
Suppose A, B, and C are nxn similar matrices. Show that if A is similar to B and B is similar to C then A is similar to C.
Answer:
A is similar to B means B=S^-1AS
B is similar to C means C=S^-1BS
as S is an arbitrary matrix.
Now suppose P and Q exist, and they are nonsingular and have inverses.
So, B=P^-1AP and C=Q^-1BQ
Therefore C=Q^-1P^-1APQ which is the same as C=(PQ)^-1APQ
Now let PQ=S, therefore
C=S^-1AS and A is similar to C.
this was actually a question on my final and the way i wrote this right now with the "now" and "suppose" and "therefore" and "let" is how you are supposed to answer these questions.
so college algebra and linear algebra are two totally different things!
