angst? eheh.. I doubt it. They don't choose the music, the industry chooses for them.. Whatever is considered 'hot' on the menu, they want it.. In your case, that is.
When I was in junior high.. All my friends listened to explicit rap because it became so popular. Me, I didn't like it and found it boring as cardboard.

have you ever listened to rap with out words, i promise that it will be boring and you will want to turn it off after 125 bars of the same thing (hey that’s more repetitive then trance:gsmile
(of course there is exception(as there is with everything))
so they don’t appreciate it, they cant relate to the content, and the beat by itself is generally boring.
As for emenem, lets publicly and internationally dis our moms for not raising us properly (by the way mom the bmw yeah the new one you gave me needs the oil changed)

It's because of opinions like yours that got him recognition in the first place... it's funny how the people that hate him the most all still want to know what he's going to say next...
even after 3 albums, people still don't seem to understand the fact that he says these things just to piss people off... do you actually think he killed his wife and dumped her body into a river while his daughter was watching? He knows that he got recognition in the first place because of his controversial lyrics and the fact that he is white... has he ever denied it? In one of his songs, he even says "Let's face the facts, if I was black, I woulda sold half." No one ever said that he got to where he is now because of his skills as a rapper... but those of us that understand what he's doing, writing controversial lyrics to piss people off and get their attention, can see past it and judge him based on his lyrical skills.
A lot of you are also mentioning that he needs to focus more on the music than being controversial... I agree with that, but I find his new album to be less controversy-oriented than his first two.
Just my two pennies
