I caught a bit of Benassi's set though and he was quite good, but the best goes out to the folks at the tent! Mstrkrft & Steve Aoki killed it!! I was also surprised that they opened up Gallery later in the night. I was there earlier and they were just using it as a resting place. who was DJ-ing?? He was awesome!
that was joee cons iwas by the booth and seemed like all of gallery wanted to know who he was and where they could find sets, gallery was bumping!

Armin played a great set, really have to give him credit to keep the momentum going for 8hrs.

The things I didn't like were; the place was too packed, and getting around became quite a hassle. Also I remember seeing a thread earlier about shirtless guys at the Guv and I couldn't agree more. I got soo fucking pissed when every now and then they would rub against my shoulders.

Overall 9/10

got there at 2 without a ticket (didn't know this was a crime?)

this has got to be the craziest most packed event i have seen in a long time. waited in line to 3am to finally get in without a ticket. bought a ticket for a stiff 70 bucks. finally got into the club and it was a madhouse. as usual, tonnes of juice monkeys and a several people who needed to wear deodorant (PLEASE WEAR DEODORANT! i sweat too but thats why there is deoderant)...

spent most of the night in the koolhouse and found Armin to be pretty awesome but I sometimes got bored when he played filler tracks between his signature sounds. Checked out the tent and heard some interesting beats but more on the pop tip. Headed to skybar and I must say, it is just awesome. pretty jammed up there but the music was excellent and well mixed (not sure who it was? 4amish)

closed out the night with s+i in the main room and though they were pretty good. left at 8am

positive
-kool house was cool - it didn't feel like an oven in there as it usually does
-almost every dj i heard sounded excellent and crowds were generally loving it
-the weather was nice which made skybar even better
-met some pretty cool people - defintely a good vibe with a lot of people celebrating what labour of ove is all about - good times
-got a bunch of free passes for digweed+ markus schulz which helped offset that 70 dollar cover
-loved some of the classics armin broke out last night

negative
-insano cover - 70?
-insano rammedness until about 4
-too many people way over their limits in terms of drugs and alcohol
-some really aggressive and pushy people, it seemed like the crackheads were really cracked last night (more so than usual)

overall 9/10

was a very hectic night for me... *sigh* had to spend first few hours babysitting someone who drank a little too much and things got messy.. ended in her and our group's driver having to go home super early.. huge buzzkill but the LoL atmosphere and music made it worth going in the end

A&I entertained me the most as i anticipated, they played a lot of weird and cool prog along with their usual awesome housey stuff.. but wasn't that impressed to hear the same a capellas over the same pryda tracks as last time they came.. too bad their set was cut 2 hours shorter than they announced it to be though... that would have been nice

i had to check out MSTRKRFT as that was easily my highlight of last year's LoL.. i couldn't be there for the whole set but it seemed like the crowd didn't like them nearly as much as the year before.. which is weird because i thought their newer productions were pretty sick.

armin.. meh

i'm starting to really dislike guv though... it's going to be hard for me to get hyped up for any upcoming events there. i mentioned in another thread that they held my hoodie because coat check closed early on canada day... and after numerous voicemails they never did get back to me about when i could come get it.. i had to check in person when i visited the club weeks later and it was long gone by then.

but last night the way the jerkoff bouncers were acting made it clear they have even less respect for their patrons than that.. few mins from the end of armin's set, i was near the front facing the stage. as i'm reading a text on my phone i heard a very loud air horn blast in my right ear.. so i flinch, probably comically so, and turn to see 2 meatheads with "security" shirts giggling and running away like fgts. glad they could entertain themselves at expense of the tiny range of frequencies that is now permanently deafened... like come on, who the fuck does that or lets their staff get away with that shit?
