why isn't there a drop-down arrow on my address bar? I use that all day, and why didn't google put it in? Ya there's history, but an annoying workaround.

yeah i thought that was strange too.

the new bar is supposed to combine both the address and search bar into one bar. i found it annoying when i wanted to look up something in amazon search, i had to go to amazon.com to search something instead of having my own amazon search window like in FF

well I've been giving it a good ride this past day to get used to it. I posted my first reaction positively. But the more I use it, the more I see missing features I like to use.

Like right-clicking on images... I like the depth and detail of the source/properties. It's really easy to copy the image source url. good. But it doesn't show the image URL unless you copy it and paste it elsewhere. You can't see where someone has used a pic from unless you paste it somewhere.

So I really like the speed, but I am beginning to see where corners had to be cut in order to get to this beta. I predict this browser will grow in size and lose a bit of speed to accommodate users' feedback and needs.

All around it looks promising, but not yet ready for use as my primary browser right now. Neat to see what Google has in the works, but being google - it will be in perpetual beta forever.

However, I do hope that they keep the browser 'to the basics' and keeps feature bloat down.

I'm sold. To me this is exactly what I want. A web browser. Plain and simple. Google has also became my email service of choice, and it seems that Gmail runs a lot faster on Chrome than on FF, IE (Duh), or Opera.

Not only that, I use Google Reader to manage my newsfeeds, and yes, it is faster in Chrome than it is in other browsers.

When i'm programming websites, i'll probably use firefox, just because of the Web Developer plugin, but for browsing the internet? Chrome it is. Simple, fast, and does what its supposed to.

Nice...good to know!

I use google reader as my RSS as well! Works great but sometimes it gets a little slow in FF.

But yeah, I love Google and everything Google Does.

i know its sucky.. .but lately i stopped using it all together when i started to just search for everything... including stuff i visit regularly. the whole process felt more natural and im sure google is picking up on it.

My first reaction is that it runs noticeably faster than firefox. I really like the minimal interface and predictive address bar.

I don't like the fact that i can't click scroll with the middle mouse button. Also don't like the lack of support for multi-contact touchpads. Java isn't working in some instances either.

The best thing about Chrome, to me, is that it runs the browser, every tab, every window, and every plugin (i.e. Shockwave, quicktime) as a separate system process.

One thing failing can't crash the whole browser. This makes so much more sense!

Yup. And that is what FF did in 3.0. They just kept the history there for all the old users. Chrome just went one step farther.
