Fact of the matter is, their story is just one of thousands from the people of Galveston, and I'm honored to be able to do this and take part in it. Please come support to help contribute to rebuild what we can.

yes i have a few friends that live down there and 1 friend that owns his own buisness down there and its all gone as well. we got hit hard down here and Galveston was completely under water. For the most part everyone is working on rebuilding or moving on not crying like New Orleans. I dont want to hear one more person from New Orleans bitch about one thing there not the only ones who went through this.

Amen. You don't hear the masses bitching and crying because the government hasn't acted. This is Texas bitches.

Ike was pretty bad but not in the same ballpark as Katrina. You can't compare the two disasters. But whatever makes you feel better.

It was bad enough that people could be bitching about what isn't happening. There are still 10's of thousands of people that have lost everything.

Your a douche. Why can't we compare? A disaster is a disaster.

We don't complain. We don't depend on the government. We will rebuild and move on because we're Texans.

Yeah keep telling yourself that. Yes you can compare and your comparison will lead you to the conclusion that in terms of disaster Ike doesn't touch Katrina.

But nevermind it is because we're Texans! Yeehaw git er dun.

How are they not in the same ballpark. If New Orleans wasn't below sea level then it would have been exactly the same.

Also in New Orleans they told everyone to get out that it is going to be bad and the ones that stayed said this isn't our first storm everything will be ok. So they had warning to get out and had transportation to get out before the storm and didn't. So one all the shit went down then they started crying and bitching for help. I dont feel sorry for them they were told to leave and didn't. But yes they are in the same ballpark. the media just focased on new Orleans and it turned into everything it did.

The storm was just as large as Katrina. had a cat 4 storm surge. the only difference were the winds were not quiet as strong... Oh and after all the stats came out about Katrina more white people died in that storm than black people

You just said it. Houston isn't under sea level and isn't surrounded by lakes and rivers which are held back by levees that burst from the surge. But yeah none of that makes a difference.

I saw plenty of people bitching on the news about it saying the government didn't learn anything from Katrina, etc...

Obviously we all do since we live in Texas. Now if you lived in Louisiana you would have a smaller wiener that bitches a little bit more.
