But stating that people should keep personalities hidden because it bothers you, is completlely shallow in my opinion.

Seriously. Wow.

This is true...it's like asking a person who is extra positive to stop being so enthusiastic about everything because it annoys you.

That's the beauty of our species. We have so many different traits and personalities and if everyone were the same hot damn it would be boring!

This is true. For some reason parents have got in their head that they need to bubble wrap the world for their kids, so they never get a scrapped knee. Growth comes from trial and tribulation.

i remember their was a guy at my elementary school who was super flamboyent.... i heard it was a estrogen/checmical inbalance or something

if that is truly what causes flamboyence couldnt it be seen as a disorder? and if thats true... would that not change the debate about its acceptability in society?

on the flip side, i dont think there is a chemical inbalance for certain ppl aka wiggers too wear their pants too low

i apoloigize if that came off as being agaisnt gays, that is definitly not my stance.

^^^ I understand what you mean.

"abnormal" or "disorder" quite literally mean "not normal" or something not functioning normally...or simply deviating from the mean/average. There are postive and negative deviations. e.g. a genius-level IQ is just as "abnormal" as the corresponding low IQ, in relation to the average score.

isn't it illogical to label a behaviour/trait/whatever like flamboyance as negative? you can say it's 'bad' to have a "imbecile" level IQ (whatever terms are used, lol) vs. a genius IQ...but we can't do that with certain behaviours/traits (e.g. hair colour, introversion/extroversion, etc).

IMHO, a trait/disorder is negative when it harms the individual or society and prevents healthy functioning. That's somewhat subjective too, but I think we'd be hard pressed to say that flamboyance "harms" anyone (outside of it being irrationally not tollerated by others).

I don't think this definition means that it's necessarily a "positive" either, but in the absence of evidence that it is negative, isn't simply accepting it as another relatively benign example diversity in our population the way to look at it?

Kris, wakeup!

you know EXACTLY what kind of flamboyance I'm talking about - over-the-top feminine, drama-queen wannabe kinda of stuff

please don't tell me that's anyone's real behaviour, because it's not

it seems that it comes as part of the lisp package

lol I know, but the only fags I can't stand are those with the bleached blond hair, gaudy eye makeup (lipstick optional but common), and some sort of retarded hipster outfit. The rest of them just amuse me to no end.
