Slylee, my bashing is more of a retaliatory move than anything else, and I didnt mean to. It's just as you say there's alot of 'people who don't use drugs' bashing, I see more 'people who do use drugs' bashing.
I've never ever called anyone a loser/pussy if they love the music narcoticless, but that doesnt mean that they love the music more than anyone who does use.
The point I want to make is, loving the music without drugs doesnt make you better than those who do with drugs.

It's just when I hear things like 'I realised that my happiness was fake and had a bad time...', it comes across as really strange.

And I also find those who have dabbled and quit/outgrew the phase, tend to be condescending to those who do still dabble.

One of my friends had a seizure (?) at the Loveparade caused by too much dope, too much heat, too little fluids etc etc....he gets out of First Aid...leeps all thru the rest of the LP..comes home and takes another pill.....I'm telling you....I feel like I need new friends LOL

Luckily my BF wants to cut down aswell and we only do drugs if we go to a party/legal rave together...we don't smoke weed (done so for 2 years but got bored 4 years ago lol)..i quit cigarettes...I don't drink much alcohol as I don't like it haha..I'm quite boring actually

But as I said..I love my snort of "pep" every once in a while..yummm....and the good thing is, it doesn't give me a fake buzz (a you ppl call it), but just energy..so it's all ME that's enjoying the music and I get to dance a lot longer aswell

About the new friends: as my BF is moving upwards in the dj-scene out here we meet a lot of new ppl, and we've made new friends and even though they're a lot older than me (me 20, they 27 and on)..at least they're sober and they enjoy parties just as much as we do And at leat they don't TALK about drugs all the time

No disrespect though...I know the beautiful feeling E can give you

well it is all in the eye of the beholder i guess...i personally think that ppl who can appreciate music without drugs are better..but that's just me. lol well i shouldn't say BETTER...just more like we dont need mind altering substances to hear every part of the song and appreciate it for what it's worth. also it is just human nature for ppl to act condescending...it's like when u used to listen to rap and be a wigger when u were 14 and then u grew up and realized how gay it was and u see kids still doing it and ur just like "oh GAWD". heheh i guess that's the only way i can explain it

I see your point, but that makes people who take look bad.
I listen to trance moreso when sober than not, as I only chow when I go to a club/rave.
My friends laugh at me all the time when I sit here on the pc, typing away on the forums, bouncing up and down because Mark Oh - Never Stop 2001 (Barthezz Double Distanz) is playing.

It's not like I need drugs to appreciate and understand the music, but they do make a night more enjoyable to me.
I'm not saying I'd have a crap time without them, but sometimes I feel like seeing and talking sh*t, so I take trip with me best friend.
Or maybe I'd like to unwind, so I take a pill or two.
It's just some fun, like people who drink when they go out, I don't like drinking, I've seen more bad things come from it than E or Acid.

As for drug friends... yeah I have a whole ex-group who were once kewl ppl, who are now chasing speed and doing ket non-stop.

BUT, my best friend and I bonded on acid over 3.5 years ago, and we will be friends til the end of our lives, and I have met some of the most amazing ppl through drugs, so I guess ppl's experiences with them in social circles varies.

I take E weekly since about 1 year and I still enjoy a lot my experiences. I started taking like 2 pills / night. I had the best feelings on my life. Then I took more and more (-> 8 / night!) and I understood that it was stupid, taking 3 or 4 is enough, the feeling is the same and the comedown is not so hard. Now I take 2 p / night. I Love music, I can party without taking e and have great time, but when you're on E you speak with everybody, you got that "love" feeling that I can't explain,.... so I continue for now. But I will not take E all my life! There will be a time when I will get bored of all those things, and I'll stop (maybe in 1 month, 6 month, 2 years,....).

And don't forget, there are lots of things to do which are 10x more dangerous than taking a pill! Alcohol is wayyy more dangerous (I couldn't drive my car home for 120km when I'm totally drunk, but on E there's no problem at all)

But I totally understand those who doesn't want to take E, because when you start, you can easily become addicted.

Techno Addict you did the right decision! When you don't enjoy drugs anymore, you must stop ! Why damaging your brain,... for something you don't like anymore...

Oh, Krootn - BTW, I like to see this study you spoke about it cuz I've read that severely damaged nerves can regenerate from weed use.

I cant remember where I read about the damage caused by THC, but it basically pointed to how THC can impair the brains recall and learning ability.

Please note that I didnt say that weed IS more damaging than E, it's just that research on E is still in it's early stages, and nothing is set in stone yet.

in problems with recall and memory would be due to blockage of the synaptic gap since all reactions in the brain are chemical in nature, the foreign bodies of THC would block some of the receptor sites for basic chemicals like seratonin. Without these chemicals free in the brain, the reactions cant take place, and thus no memory. Any LOSS of memory would be due to the :use it or lose it: function of the brain that snips connections to neurons that arent used. So if you smoke so much weed you never remember anything, your brain will just kind of weed them out. It isnt actually killing off the memory, just destroying the axon connections TO them

it helps of you detox your body once in a while.... my routine either involves a pure fruit juiced fast for a few days... this really cleans you up.... or i drink a litre of water.. have a long steamer at my health club and then drink another litre of water and have a nap.... it really makes a difference...
