My first choice would be gin and club soda (or tonic, if you prefer, but I dislike the taste of it most days so I stick with club). That, with a WEDGE of lemon and lime, squeezed into it. I think it's much better than artificial lemon or lime, and usually bars here have it (New Zealand it's rare for bars to have the actual fruit, so they use cordial.. ick.. hehe).
It's nice and refreshing and low-cal, low-sugar. I don't drink it for its 'health-consciousness' though - I drink it because I actually really like the taste of the drink, but it is a nice bonus.
Another favourite of mine is this:
2 oz. Hendrick's Gin
2 Barspoons chopped English Cucumber
Juice 1/2 Freshly Squeezed Lime
3 very thin slices & 2 peels of Cucumber - for Garnish
In a mixing glass, muddle cucumber and lime juice. Add Hendrick's Gin and ice, shake well. Double strain (using a fine kitchen strainer) into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with three thin cucumber slices and two cucumber peels (about 3" long).
Note: Hendrick's Gin uses cucumber in their recipe which really makes this the only Gin for making this a spectacular cocktail.

Or just be lazy without the muddling and mix gin with fresh lime and add garnish. hehe. I don't suggest Hendrick's with citrus though, it tastes funny I think. :s
Yeah, and that's my input.
