I can't condone those kinds of actions even if the guy was scum and even if in her situation I'd do the same thing. If everyone was allowed to dish out whatever form of justice they thought was appropriate whenever they wanted to, I doubt it would be a very nice society to live in.

it's ridiculous pride, my uncles from spain usually tell me stories of how most Spaniards (the correct terminology) despise american tourists, and I witnessed great discrimination when i lived there.

i love spain though, and i think it all depends on where you are and where they come from. Some of the northern regions are a bit more violent (think rebels) than southern folk who are usually friendlier...
