It's been said that there are still great uplifting tunes. Matt De Vries remix of "Brixx - E-Motions" is a great one with a mellow melody, Bryan Kearney's "You will never be forgotten" is also one of my current fav tunes, Andy Blueman's "Sea Tides" is amazing (as is the version of "Time to rest" with the guitar samples of Eller Van Buuren), Jonas Hornblad remix of "Double Agents with Tiff Lacey - Whispers" is good (although you can also add this tune to the vocal trance genre) and i also dig Pierre Pienaar's "First Flight", Cold Blue's "Paradise" and Dave 202's "Fireball" (one of the best uplifting tunes of 2008)
I agree a bit though that the latest productions are not so hot and there are a lot of tunes with almost the same sound (i don't mind it when the melody is great, though a lot of the latest tunes have mediocre melodies). BUT there are still great trance tunes (whether they are uplifting, prog or vocal trance)
