track #2 has the same little bell/chime noise as Tensnake - Holding Back My Love. totally threw me off earlier today and i didn't figure it out until just now.

That statement makes you look like someone who had absolutely no idea who Desyn Masiello was before this thursday.
Well put. That's why we like Desyn. If I want to listen to Tech-House, Desyn is NOT my first choice on what's new & fresh in that particular sound (though he still handles himself well there). When I think Desyn, I think fluffy, happy-go-lucky, funky, undiscovered house. He's of a rare breed that I hate thinking of as a band-wagon jumper. This set has brought hope back for me that he's still the same dude as he was a couple years back.

hmmm right well i see i've upset a few people with my last statement and i'm sorry if that was you.. of course everyone associates desyn with his traditional funky-house sound and i think he still has this characteristic to his techier sets.. but the main reason i personally listen to desyn's sets is that he plays all sorts of great stuff that we have never heard and is pushing limits rather than just playing stagnant prog house which would be the safe and easy option for a dj of his renown.. i think that's an honest opinion from an observant fan, so flame me again

Re-reading my own post, I see how that was construed. I apologize, I wasn't trying to bash you, nor was I upset by your statement. I was merely trying to say that I agreed with Oscar's underlying statement that he was making there.
All I'm trying to say is, I and I believe I speak for a lot of people here when I say that we miss the sound of old that Desyn used to play so frequently. He had gone quite techy in 2008 til now. I'm just happy to hear a set by him again with a sound that represents him more for what he used to be.
OK. I bet track 10 is some unreleased stuff from dusty kid, either under his name, or under his New Ordinament disguise.
I went on his myspace, it seems he is releasing new stuff next week. We'll see if I am right, but specially his new stuff. Hopefully it will not be too Techno, as his latetest stuff.

Yup I do agree this is a very nice funky prog-house set.. but how many awesome tunes have we heard desyn drop which don't totally conform to that description?
The reason i think this set is essentially 'dumbed-down' desyn is because it takes more skill to put together a range of top-notch eclectic house and make it work brilliantly than to play a more conventional, albeit solid set.. open-minded djs like desyn help to push house music forward and keep us interested in what is to come.
