The best track off John 00 Flemings first commercial mix CD, Qmusic – Take 1. Lovely bit of trance, uplifting and not a hint of cheese. Released in 1996 along with a mix from Red Jerry that isn’t a patch on this.

A 2009 release from the J00f stables, this is the definition of dark, evil prog. Some absolutely twisted vocals in this, great track to freak people out. Antons Crystal Verge alias is pumping out some QUALITY.

A track made ‘for fun’ by the 00.db lads. This is only released on promo and AFAIK wont get a general release. This is a ‘love or hate’ track, but I think the vocals work quite well and its a good set closer.

Possibly one of Moshics best bits of work. Wonderful melody through this, in a sense relaxing but driving at the same time. Ideal for a prog set.

ID17 - Andrea Ribeca feat. Andrea Seki - New Atlantis
Once Nu NRG had split up, this was one of the first productions that Andrea did. I’ve always liked it, but Andrea has told me it probably wont be released as its too different to what’s expected on him. Its available streaming on his myspace, but not at great quality.

ID 21 - Unique - Lassan Elhiszem (Aya Mavra mix)
Another love-or-hate. I think the vocals are Hungarian but I don’t know. Lovely dark bit of work. Very limited CD release in Hungary so this is nearly impossible to find. AFAIK the original track is quite commercial but this track shows that remixes of commercial stuff is possible.

ID 22 - V-Sag - Kittie In An Empty House (Lokitas remix)
The saddest track in this ID comp, in more ways than one. Lokitas remix of this is sublime, really emotional and one of my most wanted tracks at the moment. Unfortunately, its not released, VSag knows nothing about it and the record company that released other mixes don’t have it either. Whats worse is that Lokitas won’t respond to ANY emails, be it direct emails or myspace. Absolutely sickening and rude. But I still want this.

Unreleased. Lots of mixes were released, but never Kintars, easily the best of the bunch and an absolutely massive progressive monster. The record company were hooing and haaing about releasing this, but nothing ever came of it. They sent me a promo though, so I was happy

Ah, the gold standard intro track. Played a lot by PvD back in his golden years. Only worthwhile on a reasonably rare CD release, as the quiet intro can be cursed by vinyl noise. Lovely bit of trance this.

ID 33 - Bedrock - Heaven Scent (John Johnson remix)
This caught a lot of people on the remix, I thought the characteristic background riff would clue people in but anyway. Also known as the famous Sasha NYE mix, which Sasha smashed to bits after playing it etc etc. A so called famous and wonderful Sasha mix turned out to be available on Beatport all along, much to the deriding of Sasha fans. Still a great remix!

Its rare that male vocals work in EDM, but they do here. Wonderful track, the vocals are so simple and rhyme so well. It isn’t all about a massive breakdown with vocals crapped on top, its about a vocal track that fits together well and the works and the instruments blend together seamlessly.
