Conservatives LOVE unemployement. The biggest reason: keeps those bastard unions in check. Can't have those filthy buggers running amok and unemployment is the best way to curb their influence.

Dunno if its gotten to the point of self abuse yet, but sometimes I just cant help but smile in a very bad way at others misfortunes lately. Sooner or later life will beat the latent socialist tendencies out of our PKC when he realises the average under-achiever isn't worth a damn, let alone $900

Anyway, better go think about getting something for dinner and take care all

You're an idiot sometimes, seriously. Firstly, I'm not a conservative. I'm in favour of whatever is best for the country, regardless of which party is making it. It just happens that Kevin Rudd and the current party in power are a bunch of retards.

Two things:

1. This bullshit $900 scheme. Firstly, the money had to be borrowed, so all of us are going to end up paying it back later, WITH INTEREST. Rudd has needlessly put the country in debt. However, he's smart enough to know that the ignoramuses who vote for him don't know this. All they think is: "FREE MONEY!"

Secondly, the money has done nothing to stimulate the economy or actually "help" those in need (hardly anyone as of yet). There has been a huge spike in alcohol and gambling expenditure. If he really wanted to stimulate the economy he would have been better off investing in infrastructure. All that money invested in a public transport system would have created new jobs and ensured cheap, reliable transport for people struggling to deal with unemployment and lack of income.

2. The rollback of workplace laws by the current government is being completed to "protect the workers!" Under the new scheme, my parents will be forced to sack 20 out of their 60 staff because the new laws make employing that many people untenable.

When things like this happen, the government and the ignorant people who vote for them (i.e you) cry foul at all the greedy employers firing others for their own benefit, when in reality the employers would love to employ more people; it's only that the misguided actions of those in power prevent them from doing so.

are you sure about this? i was under the impression the money came from tax collected in the last financial year, which is why only tax payers are receiving it. are you against returning taxes to those it came from??

so what? who are you to decide what people spend their own money on? im sure the alcohol industry is doing well then, which kind've counters your argument about it not helping stimulate the economy.

very true. and im sure you're aware of the $40Bn telecommunication infrastructure plan? i'd say that's a fair investment that'll create a few jobs here and there.

work choices was a disgrace and deserved to be changed. im unfamiliar with all the changes made however, and of course not everyone will benefit. that's politics for you. and this idea that employers live to employ is what made me call you a conservative earlier. seriously, i wish i had some of what you're smoking.

quote:

As part of the stimulus package, the Australian Government is funding:

* A new 21st century school library, multipurpose hall, or classroom modernisation for each primary school in Australia;
* New science labs or language centres for 500 secondary schools;
Grants of up to $200,000 for individual school communities to fund much-needed maintenance;
* Ceiling insulation for around 2.7 million Australian homes;
* Increased rebates for solar and heat pump hot water systems;
* 20,000 new social housing dwellings;
* 802 new houses for the Australian Defence Force;
* Urgent maintenance to upgrade around 2,500 vacant social houses;
* An additional 30 per cent tax deduction for small and general businesses buying eligible assets;
* 350 additional projects in the Black Spot Program;
* Installation of around 200 new boom gates at high risk rail crossings;
* $650 million funding boost for local community infrastructure and maintenance on Australia’s national highways;
* One off cash payments to eligible families, single workers, students, drought affected farmers and others; and
$900 payment to eligible taxpayers.

ok, it might not be perfect but shit, it could be a lot worse.

Oh god no, please tell me it ain't so PKC.

Lol, even with the interest, it's going to save me a shitload. Kevin is a total queerboat (I'll not forgive him for internet censorship, what a fucking joke), but this particular tax break I like.
