Im at music university doing production etc. Yes the first thing that they show you is indeed reason for like 10 minutes. We did it lesson 1 and maybe lesson two. After that it is quickly dismissed as a tool for doing a couple of little things, redrum for example for loops. It is taught more heavily to the btec students which is several levels below a degree in uk. There has to be a reason for this no pun intended. Where do we draw the line? as to what a great little music making package is. Surely and i do mean this cubase/logic + (insert popular big vst/au nexus?) + (insert popular sample pack vengence?) is better.

Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

WTF? Claiming bragging rights?
The answer is more, but no debt!

Dude firstly my sig is pointed at part time producers that throw negative opinions about other peoples work or approach without finding out about who they are flaming first. The amount refers to course fees not my investment in my studio equipment.

Second it is also to demonstrate to the 'flamers' i cant remember who now my commitment to learning not to boast.

If this bothers you then its your problem not mine. It was also supposed to be a one day statement that i haven't bothered changing.

So thanks but keep it to yourself please.

You just dug yourself deeper mate. Seriously, its because of posts like these that I'm getting annoyed at this board and just not interested in contributing any more.

Can you not see how arrogant it is when you say "without finding out about who they are flaming first" as if the fact that you've spent a bunch of cash somehow vindicates everything you do? As if it makes you a better producer? Or more qualified to give an opinion? Because I know a lot of people who spent a lot of money on education but know fuck all. You're just making yourself look silly, and I fucking well will give my opinion on it, and make it your problem by putting to you sir, that you are looking like a dick.

Shut up kit wtf asked you anyway. I wasn't trying to vindicate nothing you dick! I was showing my commitment to learn does that sound boastful to you. When have i ever said im great at anything you fucking tool. Stick your opinion up your fucking arse! Fuck you

Edit: it is rare that i insult anyone on here but you kit really pissed me off. What has it to do with you? who asked you? someone made a comment about my sig i explained it was a one day statement as my music was being flamed as in insulted not criticised. I also hinted at the fact he was off topic and just flaming.

Please stop that, both of you. This is going nowhere.

@Sonic_c: I hope you didn't mind my reply on the 14K signature too much. A lot of people are just jealous they can't spend a similar amount of money on music, even if they wanted to. While your intentions may have been different it came across as a very arrogant and provoking remark. To me and the others.

Yea, unfortunately that's what educational music programs cost. Some find that confrontational .

The original sig came across as arrogant, but not enough for me to comment, but "without finding out about who they are flaming first" really came across like "well I'm a big deal now who can't be criticised by mere amateurs, because I spent all this money becoming a pro". If that wasn't the way it was meant then fine, but you really were making yourself look dickish
