Yes it definitely is realistic. Since the Army won't take me there are a shit ton of jobs in the area for scientists. I have places to stay too while looking for work.

It's everything. It's the act, smoke in the lungs, but also the nicotine. The first physical feeling I get when I need a cigarette is a heavy feeling in my lungs. The longer you go without smoking the better the nicotine will make you feel. It's evil

One way to quit smoking is to become consciously perceptive of your own actions.

Knowing what you are doing to yourself and others is a start.

Justifying all of the reasons why you should quit is another.

Living longer on earth to enjoy another day under blue skies when the sun is shining on the beach, priceless.

I think if you really embrace your life and care about your health the act of quitting smoking will become easier to accept.

this is what did it for me. you really need to focus on the damage you are doing to your body to the point where it scares you.

i'm confident myra will pull it off. you are the perfect candidate to be able to quit without breaking a sweat if you put your mind to it.

good for you! I quit last November after being a smoker for 8 years.

The first few weeks are rough, just keep yourself busy with other things. Once that passes its pretty simple actually. I don't recommend having any social cigs in the first month!! my previous trials to quit involved the social smoking and it just led me back to being a full time smoker...

best of luck to you!

ps it totally saves you so much money to quit!

you should just quit. i was exactly like you. same reasons for smoking and the same gradual progression into full blown smoking when stressed, driving, etc... and i just quit one day. smoking gives you premature wrinkles and the sooner you quit, the better. and let's not forget all the other health problems you develop from smoking...including cancer.

i'm at the point where if someone lights up around me, i get really annoyed and don't want to smell like an ashtray. i mean if i'm out and partying and someone lights up, whatever. but in my every day life when i'm sober, i don't like being around smokers. it's gross and makes my nose stuffed.

are you at the point where you light up a cigarette and after the first couple off puffs you think, "ughh this is gross i dont even enjoy them any more" ??

if so, then you can definitely quit right now. it's all mental. you're strong. you can do it myra!

Don't see what's wrong with smoking hookah instead. Less addictive, tastes better, and the smoke doesn't stay on your clothes or breath.
