this actually makes sense. i read on yahoo! today that having sex early and often "weeds out" genetic defects in sperm. so it's evolution's way of eliminating the "dumb" genes from these people.

It's true that sperm are more likely to be defective in older men. It used to be thought that reproduction in old age carried high risks for the child only when the woman was old, but now we know there are risks on both ends. So perhaps the smart people will not only have fewer kids, but the ones they do have will also have more genetic defects.
