Levi Johnston seems to agree with Q - he says Palin quit because of legal fees and the prospect of making millions on the lecture + book circuit.

In any case, Huckabee and Romney have to be salivating at the prospect of a primary against her. First question in the debate: "Governor Palin, you left office before the end of your term because you cited the pointlessness of being a lame duck. Under that logic, would you leave office two years before the end of your Presidential term as well?"

@Q: I'm not trying to call you out or anything, but how do you think Obama feels?

His character, race, voice, actions, musical taste, each time he takes a shit, is scrutinized 24/7 every single day by every media outlet known to man: blogs, news websites, news channels, news papers, editorials, skeptical self-righteous republicans in the steam-room at the gym. This is the kind of treatment you can expect from ANY media source when you run for president or even consider running for president. I highly doubt anybody else on this planet has been treated much differently in her same situation. Sure, she's a family oriented person, but aren't most people? It's quite hard to defend someone so arrogant and idiotic when they're running for the second-highest to the highest position in the United States, yet you seem to do it quite often. You show your bleeding heart for Sarah Palin's down-home style, all while seemingly looking past her policies and ridiculous statements she makes practically every day. I'm sure Palin is a wonderful mother, daughter, and wife, but that doesn't change the fact that she's considered the last hope for the GOP's future even if she knows nothing about what the job of the president is. Answer me why you make it seem like Palin is so unfairly treated, and Obama isn't?

"no tax increases" sounds nice and all but how are you paying off ridiculous levels of debt, during an economic shitstorm while conducting 2 wars?

and lets say mccain keeled over mid-term and captain stupid found herself in the white house. that's the sort of thing comedy films are made of, except i dont really think it would be funny.

anyway, its all said and done obviously so it doesn't really matter, im just still in denial about the whole thing

at least W tried to pay down the debt in his second term and was well on his way to breaking even ahead of his proposed schedule in 2009 - record revenues were seen in part because of his tax cuts and budgets were being paid down the last four years of his term - was it enough? obviously not. could he have gotten out his veto pen earlier? yes.

i don't blame anyone but the Republican party as a whole, but you can see very well now, the greater of the two spending evils that retains power now, i was under no illusion whatsoever they would continue Bush's trend to pay down the budget hence my support for the Republican ticket.

i can see though how you want this to be about W and not the Democratic party as a whole. the Democratic party doesn't know to not spend themselves into oblivion. theres no argument. it's not debatable. it can't be defended.

and lets not forget the politician you endorsed to lead your country eats his own fucking earwax. so you calling Palin stupid is rich with irony and chockfull of bad taste

so you would have supported doing nothing to combat the recession?

rudd's IQ is at least twice palin's. i dont care how much earwax he eats. at least he understands basic political principles like the role of the VP (deputy prime minister). you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone as dumb as palin leading one of the two major parties in my country. good luck trying though.

of course not. im not talking about the crisis. im talking about the cut in taxes, increase in spending & new pension entitlements that are going to send the US broke.

oh, i see. you would have them spend money to combat the recession, but not as much as the dems? how much less do you think they would have spent? im sure john "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" mccain would've been the top man for the job.

no, but i can gauge someone's ability to respond adequately to questions as required by their office, and if they can't do that they look like a moron. whether it be soundbites or newspaper articles or blog posts or what- i have seen nothing but idiocy come from that woman. but yeah, maybe that's my fault

rudd on the other hand, is more than capable of providing intelligent and rational responses to said questions.

now or then? are you talking about W's medicaid prescription drug benefit? to my knowledge W couldn't get any work done on Social Security even though it was one of his main platforms for re-election in 2004.

an $800 billion stimulus? uh, no. on top of a monster budget? hell no

TARP I, yes even tho i was initially against it. a more balanced budget, maybe even a budget freeze. and a more targeted and less pork laden stimulus maybe on the order of 1/3 of TARP II <-- an arbitrary number, really.

No, but it's not fair to say TARP I was Obama, either.

Yes, it is Barack Obama's fault that Sarah Palin was an incompetent nominee. The best defense is surely "so was he!"

Well in.

You missed the entire point of the article...it was the whole machine of personal destruction. She was lambasted by the media elite and folks like yourselves latched on to their every criticism.

I mean, we're talking about a media and public who couldn't find any fault with a presidential candidate who sat in a racist church for 20 years without batting an eyebrow, who deemed his known association with a domestic terrorist (Alinsky) as inconsequential and who also automatically assumed he was so very qualified for the position of presidency just because of his eloquence and empty rhetoric fed to him by a teleprompter. With the direction he's taking this country, I know it couldn't be any worse with the former Alaskan Governor as VP and I say that with the utmost seriousness.
