If you think Minitek provided buses because it was an underground affair, you are very mistaken. Remember the initial idea was that the night parties were going to be @ Penn Plaza. They had transportation available to the afterparties because they were their OWN parties, and Minitek was NOT underground; there was a NY times article about it, a Post article about it, it was on every other music website in the world, people from Germany, France, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, came to NY for Minitek. I really think Minitek set a precedent for a NY festival to happen in the near future that was properly coordinated (as much of a disaster as Minitek was) and it was made clear what the biggest mistakes were so that the next promoters that decided to do a festival didn't make the same mistakes.
Made is doing pretty much the same thing but in a much more organised manner and providing transportation to and from randalls (for a price, no surprise there from Made) but not to the afterparties because there's no affiliation |
ok let me rephrase what i said because, obviously, it wasnt underground. yes, it was globally publicized in order to spark what NY had been lacking for so many years, a festival with a variety of djs. what i meant was, it was organized by the very few people and promoters that have been throwing the recent underground parties- resolute and most importantly the protagonist, minimoo crew! So i stand corrected.
now, there were a couple of announced closing parties BUT let me say something those were NOT all of them!
