Everything is a non issue. The collective mindset is the issue. Ban ban ban. Thats our culture now. It's quite sad

if you're upset that you won't see as many hot chicks in short kilts, just say so.

I'd sympathize and agree that it is a travesty to deprive people of their schoolgirl eye candy, lol.

I think we've seen enough disempowerment of our teachers and administrations. time to let them do their job, which includes setting school policies. not everything warrants "taxpayer consultation".

I suppose you have a better solution though...or just the usual complaining?

I ask only because I'm *guessing* that the experienced administrations of 18 high schools probably put a fair bit more thought into their position than you have into yours.

Ive already said it... Teachers are being too lazy and its easier to ban something. Solution? teachers should continue to enforce the rules and punish those who break it. Simple!!

(and kilts are nice eye candy if shes over 18 i wont lie, but irrelevant in my argument LOL)

I never really liked the high-school kilt look like everyone else did (and drooled over). Very strange, I know.

Why the hell does one need to look "professional" in highschool! LOL!

Its HIGH SCHOOL! Ur not a job, or a even a big university of higher education.

The base standard should be looking presentable. You're there to have teachers talk at you, educate you... why do u need to look "professional" for that? Its not a job ur working at needing to impress ur clients...

As long as you show up and do well to further yourself, who cares how you dress? You are not in client meetings, and pitching products to potential customers, its high school for gods sake, dress how ever you want. High school in this country is a joke as it is.

well it shouldn't be dressing for comfort, unless you're on a school camping trip that's my $0.05

and then we're surprised why Uni. students look like bums too - they bring that from their school days
having worn uniform in school since I went to middle school in Ukraine and then private school in Cyprus I kind off stuck to dressing up professionally as I went along..

by "professional" I clearly meant "presentable" - and looking at what high school students wear here it's clear they have no fucking clue

Well, i see no prob with 'dressing for comfort' either for high school..

If HS students wanna wear ripped jeans, track pants or lululemons to highschool, good for them, whatever floats their boat that day.

Same goes for classes at uni... i couldnt care less if or when students wore PJ pants, for example, to some early morning class.. Whatever makes them happy and comfortable. Choice should be theirs to make. Its a fantastic luxury have imo... bc everyone knows he or she wont be able to do that at a job in 4 years time, so enjoy it while u can!

Jamie you're missing the point
ah I wish I had pics of my friends from Russia, Australia and Europe handy - people look super cool and nicely dressed when they go to classes there

not everyone is wearing pinstipe suites and ties to work business-casual is a very common work attire these days so it's hardly a luxury IMO
