They try to get people into Circus as fast as possible... no line stalling.

Inside Circus there is a Mexican grill that makes reasonably priced tacos, burritos, etc... and a huge patio where you can eat, smoke, talk, whatever. Lots of places to get booze too, although regular TAs will tell you that Ernesto makes the best drinks.

try out kayak.com and you can compare. not too familiar with the la area even though its the closest metropolitan city to me.

Rent a car for the day, you can get one for like under $20 on a saturday. Return it on Monday.

Parking is $10 at Circus. Valet is the same cost as self park (not including the tip).

Yes, the area is very iffy. Even if there is a hotel around Circus, it'll probably be a "love motel". As for parking, it's only one, and if there is a special event at Circus or the Arena you either have to go very early or you end up parking on the street.

ummm... there's more than one parking lot.

ive been parking on the streets around circus for over 5 years and never once had any problems with my car getting broken into. I wouldnt stay in any hotels walking distance though

The Vagabond near Circus (It's on Vine right off of Santa Monica Blvd. And there's a convenience store next door I believe whic his good...I could be wrong there) has clean rooms. It's been awhile since I stayed there, but have a bunch and never had any issues with the rooms. They were always pretty much spotless. Just a simple place to sleep. I used to get it for like $50/night online but have no clue what the rates are today.

And yeah, the walk is a bit creepy. lol. It's about an 8-10 minute walk. Maybe a half mile (that's what Google says, but I want to say it's not that long). The first main street east of Circus. It's all just buildings and tranvestites ont he walk..crossing some small side streets.
